TIM GRUBER: “LIFE IN APPALACHIA”

A human nation

Appalachia is a wide region that follows the spine of the Appalachian Mountains from southern New York to northern Mississippi. Long considered a culturally backward region Appalachia has been a source of enduring distortions regarding the isolation, temperament, and behavior of its inhabitants. In this series of Tim Gruber, portrait and editorial photographer, we grab a sense of what’s life in the Appalachia. Gruber gives us reality as it seems. As we read in his bio “As a photographer Tim believes the best pictures touch people in ways that only our hearts can understand. Simply, he tries to make images that make you feel”. In doing this Gruber shows us a great humanity as well as an extraordinary aesthetic taste.
