Urban oversights

Reality or fiction? It is on this dichotomy that plays the brilliant photographic project of the Danish Peter Funch. His research leads to images that at first sight may seem ordinary scenes of life along the streets but at a closer look they reveal a full-blown manipulation of reality.
What appears to be a particular detail suddenly becomes a pattern that expands in the photograph to invade and absorb its full meaning.
At the base there is a clear desire to characterize, and to emerge, behaviors, attitudes and social habits which in the confused compound that is the city often sink in an anonymous background.
There is the will to provoke the observer, to instigate his look, to awaken the attention and feelings that too often drown in the routine.
