Neverwhere.
“The Meadowlands is a place to pass through and forget on the way to someplace else”. The words of Joshua Lutz, appreciated photographer from New York City, are the best caption for his amazing and ongoing photographic research that tries to capture the deepest essence of a place that is many places in the world, and yet none of them. These shots are individual stories of the same interminable epic, which is no longer strictly American. “Not unlike a neglected child”, Lutz adds, “the Meadowlands has grown up without guidance, constantly unsure of what the future holds. It is loneliness and solitude that continues to bring me back year after year. These disparate images tell different stories, like songs on an album that build upon each other. Each one may be about something specific, but more often than not, the specifics become less important than the feelings conveyed”.
