Unconscious landscapes
In this series produced by the artist Angel Marcos, the reality is conceived as a set to recreate, through allusive objects and representations, memories of moments and sensations already experienced. The Spanish photographer in doing so, guide the observer in an introspective scenario and unconscious landscape. A sort of magical realism, inspired by atmosphere vaguely misleading, distressing and almost fairy-tale.
Marcos plays with the credibility of the photographic medium to materialize and reveale desires, thoughts and anxieties probably hidden or buried. He does so by placing hints outdoor, so visible to everyone, but in the middle of a nature not very recognizable, silent, deliberately hidden. Objects that appear naked, stripped of their function, apparently wastes, but full of meaning they shine for dignity. A set of signals that trace through the woods the path of a widespread and perhaps universal memory.
